We at R&S Distributing offer a variety of services and rebuild options depending on the condition of the turbocharger or any special requests that are in our power.
Over the phone troubleshooting
Before removing your turbocharger from your motor, we always recommend checking all your components. Faults such as exhaust leaks/restrictions or issues with an inter-cooler can make a relatively fine turbo not operate properly. We can walk you through troubleshooting so you can avoid unnecessary work if possible.
Turbocharger diagnosis
We give you our honest opinion what needs to be done with your turbocharger. If there are issues with your turbocharger or if you just want to be sure it's operating properly, we can tell you what to look for or personally look at it if you bring the turbocharger by and recommend a rebuild if necessary. If you're located far away from us, you can send us your turbocharger if necessary after talking to one of our sales representatives or technicians for a rebuild.
Complete rebuild
A complete rebuild entails bringing the turbocharger as close to factory new as possible. The turbocharger gets torn down completely and sand blasted. The housings get painted or polished and the turbine shaft and bearing housing bores get polished as well. Each part gets closely inspected for cracks and wear. The turbine shaft and bearing housing bores get measured and are only used if they measure within a few ten thousandths to their factory new specifications. The turbine shaft is made to be sure it's straight and both wheels are balanced. We use brand new rebuild kits (bearings, piston rings, seals/o-rings) and make sure all surface connections are flat and are surfaced if necessary. After making sure faults that need to be addressed are fixed and all pieces fit together nicely, the turbocharger is assembled, given a final check and packaged up.
Repairs and part replacements
Sometimes depending on the turbocharger, we might only recommend replacing a wheel, putting new bearings/seals in or cleaning out exhaust ends. We can make repairs to a turbocharger so it can run safely per a customer's request if a full rebuild isn't desired.
Orders and requests
We sell a variety of turbochargers from our stock and can order ones for our customers that are available to us. We can also build a turbocharger with our stock of parts from turbocharger infancy to brand new modern turbos.
